8. Site-specific conditions
Style presets (characters per line, reading speed, durations, gaps) come from Netflix’s public timed text style guides, linked on each page with the date we opened them. Other broadcasters and clients use other limits.
Conversions keep the text, the times and the formatting each format supports. Positioning, colours and effects that the target format cannot express are dropped; keep your original file.
The site edits existing subtitles. It does not transcribe or translate audio.
